Getting started

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends establishing a dental home by about age one. An early visit lets us check development, discuss brushing, fluoride, diet and teething, and help prevent problems before they start.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. New patients are welcome. Call 310-357-4414 and our team can help you schedule the right type of visit for your child.

What ages do you treat?

We care for children from infancy through adolescence, with treatment and behavior guidance adapted to each child’s age and developmental needs.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call us at 310-357-4414. Calling is the primary scheduling path on this website so our team can match your child with the appropriate visit and answer questions about insurance or special accommodations.

Special needs & comfort

Do you see children with autism or other special healthcare needs?

Yes. Special-needs care is a major part of our practice. Dr. Carroll has more than 15 years of experience caring for children with special healthcare needs and is also the parent of a child with autism. Our office includes a dedicated sensory room.

Can I tell you about my child's sensory needs before the visit?

Yes. Our office can send you a Sensory Profile before the appointment so we can learn about communication preferences, triggers, sensory needs and strategies that may help your child.

What if my child cries or is afraid of the dentist?

That can be completely normal. We use age-appropriate behavior guidance, desensitization and individualized strategies rather than expecting every child to tolerate the same type of visit.

Insurance, location & hours

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes. We are in-network with most major PPO and EPO dental insurance plans. Call the office so we can help verify your specific plan because networks and benefits can change.

Do you accept TRICARE Dental Program?

Yes. We participate with the TRICARE Dental Program and are honored to care for children of military families and service members.

Where are you located and is parking available?

We are in Riviera Village at 1611 S. Catalina Avenue, Suite 100, Redondo Beach. Free underground parking is available in our garage from Catalina Avenue.

What are your office hours?

Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hours may occasionally change, so please call the office if you need to confirm availability for a particular day.

Treatment & emergencies

What should I do if my child has a pediatric dental emergency?

Call our office after a dental injury, toothache, swelling, broken tooth or other urgent dental concern so we can help determine the next step. Serious facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or major trauma may require emergency medical care.

Do you offer pediatric sedation dentistry or anesthesia?

When Dr. Carroll determines that sedation or anesthesia is necessary, she uses a board-certified anesthesiologist to administer and monitor the anesthesia while she performs the dental treatment.

Does every infant tongue tie or lip tie need to be released?

No. Dr. Carroll evaluates function, not appearance alone. A visible frenum does not by itself mean an infant needs a procedure.

Can lactation consultants, pediatricians or feeding specialists be part of an infant feeding evaluation?

Yes. Dr. Carroll values collaboration with lactation consultants, pediatricians, feeding specialists and other professionals already involved with the family. Their observations can be helpful as part of the overall feeding picture.

Do you use digital X-rays?

Yes. We use digital X-rays and follow ALARA principles – as low as reasonably achievable – taking X-rays based on the child’s age, risk, symptoms and development rather than automatically at every visit.
